Statement on the Death of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II
The Worshipful Company of Cordwainers is in mourning for Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
Her Majesty earned the affection of generations here, across the Commonwealth and around the world. We remember The Queen for her steadfast support of the British people through many times of crisis from the Second World War to the global coronavirus pandemic, and her joyous support of communities, organisations, charities and indeed the Livery Company movement.
As we mourn, we also give thanks for the extraordinary life and service of Her Majesty. Our thoughts, prayers and condolences are with His Majesty The King and the whole Royal Family. We have all lost a much loved, globally highly respected public figure. They have lost a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Her passing leaves a void in all our lives and hearts. She will be greatly and affectionately missed.
The Master will be writing on behalf of the Company to King Charles III to offer him and the entire Royal Family our condolences.
