New Freemen and Liverymen admitted to the Company

Three leading figures in the footwear industry have been admitted to the freedom of the Company, all of whom have worked closely with the Cordwainers over the past few years.

Kevin Guildford is Course Leader in Footwear Design at De Montfort University.
Katie Greenyer is Creative Director of Pentland Brands.
Atalanta Weller is a shoe designer and graduate of Cordwainers at the London College of Fashion.

In addition, Freeman and bespoke shoemaker Caroline Groves was clothed with the Livery. Caroline is one of a very select group of modern designers to have her shoes displayed in the forthcoming Victoria and Albert exhibition, Shoes – Pleasure and Pain.

John Miller, Clerk of the Cordwainers Company said: ‘The Cordwainers are delighted to welcome these leading figures in British shoe design. The Company supports and is fostering links between industry and education, so important to ensure the vitality of the British footwear industry and the development of new exciting talent.’
