Worshipful Company of Cordwainers

Marching for Harry’s Giant Pledge

Posted by: JHM Date: 16 Jun 2020

Cordwainers love to come together to do good and have fun. This year is no different – except that we can’t be together.

We are determined to raise funds to support Harry’s Giant Pledge at the Royal Marsden Hospital, a fund very dear to our hearts, which has been set up in memory of Harry Shaw, the son of Past Warden James Shaw, to fund research into childhood cancer.

On 14 June over 50 members of the Company, along with families and friends, took part in a sponsored walk. From Norfolk to Northamptonshire, and Dorset to Deptford, we set out to walk a few miles around our local neighbourhoods in a socially distant manner. It was a genuinely amazing experience. Despite the miles that separated us, the photos posted on our social media brought us together to share the experience. The Master, Nigel Easton, led from the front as always and has sent this video by way of thanks.
